1. A method for wireless communications by a first user equipment (UE), comprising:
identifying, during a beam discovery period, a plurality of transmit beams for sidelink communications with a second UE; and
performing, in conjunction with a discontinuous transmission (DTX) occasion of the first UE, a beam refinement procedure with the second UE, wherein the beam refinement procedure involves sending reference signals using transmit beams that are a subset of or differ from the plurality of transmit beams identified during the beam discovery period, wherein the beam refinement procedure is performed at a start of the DTX occasion.
