1. A flow cell apparatus for a mixture of a liquid and a solid, wherein:
the flow cell apparatus is configured to segregate the solid to a bottom portion of the flow cell apparatus and for the liquid to occupy an upper portion of the flow cell apparatus; and
the upper portion of the flow cell apparatus is configured for the liquid to be irradiated with a light beam at a wavelength in the UV-visible spectrum.
