1. A process comprising:
(a) subjecting a feed mixture comprising 1-hexene and 1-octene to isomerization-metathesis to form a reaction mixture containing C7 olefins;
(b) separating the reaction mixture into a C7 olefin stream and a recycle stream; and
(c) hydrogenating the C7 olefin stream to form a product stream containing n-heptane.
