1. A method for generating a personalized travel itinerary, the method comprising:
receiving, from a user device of a user, a selection of a point of interest;
retrieving profile information associated with the user, the profile information including a location of the user;
identifying one or more travel paths between the location of the user and the selected point of interest;
retrieving locations of a plurality of points of interest, wherein each of the plurality of points of interest is located within a threshold distance of at least one of the one or more travel paths;
retrieving point of interest information about the plurality of points of interest;
identifying a recommended point of interest of the plurality of points of interest based on a comparison between the profile information associated with the user and the point of interest information;
generating a personalized itinerary for the user, the personalized itinerary identifying at least the recommended point of interest and the selected point of interest; and
sending the personalized itinerary to the user device.
