1. A method for measuring ground water characteristics, the method comprising:
a. injecting a carbon dot tracer in an injection bore well, wherein the carbon dot tracer comprises polystyrene sulphonate-coated carbon dots having a particle size in a range of 7-8 nm;
b. mixing the carbon dot tracer and ground water in the injection bore well;
c. pumping the ground water mixed with the carbon dot tracer from the injection bore well to an acquiring bore well connected with the injection bore well with a micro fracture and a major fracture;
d. collecting the water samples mixed with the carbon dot tracer at the acquiring bore well; and
e. measuring fluorescence of the collected water samples to obtain the characteristics of the ground water.
