1. A terminal capable of reporting a channel state information (CSI) feedback in a wireless communication system, the terminal comprising:
a transceiver configured to receive, from a base station (BS), CSI feedback configuration information including information associated with a number (K0) of coefficients for CSI reporting; and
a processor operably connected to the transceiver, the processor configured to determine a number of nonzero coefficients for CSI reporting based on the CSI feedback configuration information including the information associated with the number (K0) of coefficients for CSI reporting,
wherein the transceiver is further configured to transmit, to the BS, the CSI feedback including a bitmap to report the number of nonzero coefficients for CSI reporting, and
wherein the number (K0) is determined as K0=┌a×2LM┐, where α≤1 and 2LM is a total number of coefficients.
