1. A method for editing content for presentation in a virtual-reality (VR) environment, the method comprising:
receiving, via a plurality of views representing different contiguous view portions into which a 360 degree view spanned by the VR environment is divided, one or more edits to metadata associated with a script, wherein each view includes a different subset of the script, and wherein the different subset of the script is associated with a corresponding contiguous view portion of the 360 degree view spanned by the VR environment;
generating a model of the VR environment based on the metadata;
receiving, via manipulation of one or more components of a two-dimensional (2D) visualization of the script, a modification to the model of the VR environment that alters at least one element of the model of the VR environment, wherein the 2D visualization comprises a layout of one or more characters and a camera associated with a given scene;
generating a modified model of the VR environment based on the modification to the model of the VR environment;
updating the script based on the modified model of the VR environment;
generating a three-dimensional (3D) preview of the VR environment based on the modified model of the VR environment; and
presenting the 3D preview to a user.
