1. A head-mounted display configured to display images viewable by a user, comprising:
a display panel configured to produce light for the images; and
a lens module that receives the light from the display panel, wherein the lens module comprises:
first, second, and third lens elements, wherein each one of the first, second, and third lens elements has a convex surface and a concave surface;
a partially reflective mirror that is interposed between the first lens element and the display panel;
a quarter wave plate that is formed between the first and second lens elements, wherein there is no adhesive layer between the quarter wave plate and the second lens element;
a reflective polarizer that is formed between the second and third lens elements; and
a linear polarizer that is formed between the second and third lens elements, wherein there is no adhesive layer between the linear polarizer and the third lens element.
