1. A method, comprising:
controlling a heating element to output an amount of energy, wherein a test vehicle is plugged into a computing apparatus having a thermal mass, the test vehicle including the heating element, a heat spreader coupled with the heating element, a processor, and a thermal sensor, the processor being coupled with the heating element and the thermal sensor;
receiving temperature readings using the thermal sensor; and
determining a thermal property associated with the thermal mass based at least in part on the amount of the energy output and the received temperature readings.
