1. A laser ablation and filtration process for removing one or more hydrocarbons from a fluid, the process comprising the following steps:
a) providing a laser source for directing laser energy through the fluid, wherein the laser energy has at least one wavelength that denatures, renders inert, breaks down, neutralizes, vaporizes and/or separates at least some of the one or more hydrocarbons from the fluid, and wherein the at least one wavelength is selected from a blue or green visible light spectrum; and
b) directing the laser energy from the laser source through the fluid to clean and remove at least some of the one or more hydrocarbons from the fluid.
