9. A method for disinfecting a contact lens, the method comprising:
immersing the contact lens in a volume of a disinfecting solution comprising from about 1.5 vol % to about 5 vol % H2O2 in the presence of a coated catalytic disc comprising:
a support disc comprising a polyamide, a polyphenylene oxide, a polyphenyl ether, a polypropylene, a polyethylene, a polystyrene, or any combination thereof; and
a manganese oxide on at least a portion of the support disc;
wherein the coated catalytic disc comprises from about 300 μg to about 1800 μg of manganese.
