1. A surgical apparatus, comprising:
an elongated member defining a longitudinal axis;
a jaw member disposed adjacent a distal end of the elongated member;
a drive member disposed at least partially within the elongated member and configured to move longitudinally relative to the elongated member, the drive member including a blocking portion; and
a latch including a locking member, the latch being movable from a blocking position where a portion of the locking member engages the blocking portion of the drive member and prevents distal translation of the drive member relative to the latch, to a non-blocking position where the portion of the locking member is free from contact with the blocking portion of the drive member and allows distal translation of the drive member relative to the latch.
