1. A surgical needle, comprising:
an elongate body having a tissue-penetrating tip at a distal end thereof and a suture attachment portion at a proximal end thereof; and
an outer-most coating disposed on at least a portion of the elongate body, the outer-most coating comprising a hydroxyl-terminated polydimethylsiloxane;
wherein the surgical needle is configured to have a substantially constant tissue-penetrating force after at least thirty passes of the tissue-penetrating tip of the elongate body through tissue.
