1. A computer-implemented method comprising:
determining, at a server, a modification to a graphics effects operation to be implemented by the server in generating a portion of a first stream of rendered video frames for encoding and transmission to a client device via at least one network, wherein the modification to the graphics effects operation to be implemented by the server comprises bypassing or downgrading one or more of a film grain noise operation, a tone mapping operation, a motion blurring operation, an anti-aliasing operation, a bloom operation, a depth of field operation, a dynamic reflection operation, a supersampling operation, a color grading operation, or an image sharpening operation; and
transmitting, from the server to the client device via the at least one network, metadata representing the modification to the graphics effects operation for the portion of the first stream.
