1. A method for presenting an advertisement to a user, comprising:
receiving, by a system including at least one hardware processor, an advertisement request for an advertisement to be presented in connection with a video presented on a user device, wherein the video includes content related to a first application and wherein the video is presented using a second application installed on the user device;
determining that the first application has been installed on the user device;
determining whether an application specific advertisement should be presented in response to the advertisement request based on application use information indicating that the first application installed on the user device is a frequently used application;
in response to determining that the application specific advertisement should be presented responsive to the advertisement request, causing the application specific advertisement to be presented in connection with playback of the video using the second application, wherein the application specific advertisement includes a user interface for purchasing one or more virtual items associated with the first application;
receiving a user input, via the user interface of the application specific advertisement, indicating a purchase of at least one virtual item of the one or more virtual items;
upon receiving the user input indicating the purchase of the at least one virtual item, facilitating the purchase of the at least one virtual item; and
transmitting information indicating the purchase of the at least one virtual item to an entity associated with the first application.
