1. A hydraulic pump comprising:
a housing;
an input shaft extending from the housing;
a pulley disposed external to the housing such that a gap is formed between the pulley and the housing;
a seal disposed within the housing and positioned about the input shaft; and
a seal guard member positioned about the input shaft in the gap, wherein the seal guard member is configured and shaped to conform to a portion of the pulley, the input shaft, and the housing, and wherein the seal guard member is configured to allow rotation of the input shaft without rotating therewith.
