1. A method, comprising:
receiving by one or more microphones of a virtual reality (VR)/augmented reality (AR) system worn by a user, respective first and second sounds in succession, wherein the first and second sounds are made in a real-world environment;
determining, by the VR/AR system, whether the first and second sounds are related to each other based at least in part on the second sound being an effect of the first sound;
evaluating, by the VR/AR system, a threat level of the first and second sounds based on a determination of whether the first and second sounds are related to each other;
generating, by the VR/AR system, a visual representation of the threat level of the first and second sounds; and
presenting, by the VR/AR system, the visual representation of the threat level of the first and second sounds to the user through a display device of the VR/AR system positioned in front of the eyes of the user.
