1. A method for detecting pregabalin, the method comprising:
combining in a reaction mixture:
(a) a sample suspected of containing pregabalin; and
(b) a conjugate comprising a compound of Formula (A):
wherein:
R1 or R2 is —X—W-L-Z, wherein
when R1 is —X—W-L-Z, then R2 is —NH2,
when R2 is —X—W-L-Z, then R1 is —OH, and
X is NH;
W is selected from a bond, alkyl, substituted alkyl, alkenyl, substituted alkenyl, alkynyl, substituted alkynyl, cycloalkyl, substituted cycloalkyl, heterocyclyl, substituted heterocyclyl, aryl, substituted aryl, heteroaryl, substituted heteroaryl, and carbonyl;
L is a bond or a linker; and
Z is an enzyme;
or a salt thereof, and
detecting the presence of an enzymatic reaction product of the conjugate,
wherein an increase in the enzymatic reaction product of the conjugate indicates the presence of pregabalin in the sample.
