1. A weed trimmer throttle comprising:
a tubular member adapted to mount about a drive shaft of a weed trimmer, the tubular member when mounted about the drive shaft being between an engine power head of the weed trimmer and a cutter head of the weed trimmer, the tubular member defining a gripping area without any locking mechanism and including a flange member spaced from the gripping area, wherein the flange member can be rotated about the drive shaft by rotating the tubular member;
a grip located about the gripping area of the tubular member, the grip including a plurality of vibration dampening ribs along its entire length, each vibration dampening rib completely encircling a circumference of the grip and being spaced from adjacent vibration dampening ribs of the plurality;
an on/off switch adapted to mount about the drive shaft, the on/off switch when mounted about the drive shaft being adjacent to the tubular member between the grip and the engine power head; and
a stationary split collar relative to the on/off switch, wherein the split collar is adapted to mount about the tubular member adjacent the on/off switch, the split collar when mounted about the tubular member being between the grip and the on-off switch, the split collar sized to contain the flange member, the flange member including a single throttle cable channel, the single throttle cable channel partially encircling the tubular member and having two ends spaced opposite and aligned with, and exposed to, one another, each of the two ends adapted to function as a throttle cable end retainer.
