1. A computer-implemented method for directing a vehicle to a merchant which accepts vehicle payments, the method executed by one or more processors programmed to perform the method, the method comprising:
generating, by the one or more processors, a map display of a geographic area including indications of one or more merchant locations on the map display;
receiving, by the one or more processors, a selection of one of the one or more merchant locations on the map display;
transmitting, by the one or more processors via a short-range communication link, financial data for a financial account or a token corresponding to the financial account to an electronic device proximately attached to an exterior of a vehicle; and
transmitting, by the electronic device proximately attached to the exterior of the vehicle via a very short-range communication link, the financial data or the token corresponding to the financial account to a point-of-sale (POS) terminal at the selected merchant location to facilitate vehicle payment of goods or services.
