1. A printing apparatus comprising:
a printhead including a plurality of nozzles each configured to discharge liquid, and a plurality of energy generating elements respectively provided in the plurality of nozzles and each configured to generate energy used for discharging the liquid from a corresponding one of the nozzles;
an obtaining unit configured to obtain information concerning a signal indicating a status of a target nozzle and information concerning a signal indicating a status of a nozzle close to the target nozzle output by the printhead; and
a determination unit configured to determine the liquid discharge status for the target nozzle based on the information concerning the signal indicating the status of the target nozzle and the information concerning the signal indicating the status of the nozzle close to the target nozzle.
