1. A control device, comprising:
a control circuit configured to communicate signals during a beacon signal transmission time period and a load control communication time period, wherein:
during the beacon signal transmission time period, the control circuit is configured to transmit a beacon signal, and during the load control communication time period, the control circuit is configured to communicate signals including messages other than the beacon signal,
wherein the messages communicated during the load control communication time period allow for association of the control device with one or more external devices.
