1. A friction ring for a brake disk comprising:
at least one friction surface configured for interacting with a brake lining, wherein the friction ring comprises an Al-MMC in one of at least in the region of the friction surface and the friction ring consisting completely thereof;
the at least one friction surface has a plurality of microgrooves which extend in a radially directed manner with respect to a circumferential direction of rotation of the friction ring and non-tangentially angled thereto; and
wherein the microgrooves are arranged orthogonally to the circumferential direction of rotation.
