1. An information processing apparatus having a plurality of storage portions, for storing recording materials used for printing on a recording medium, which are to be loaded, the information processing apparatus comprising:
a state detection unit configured to detect states of the recording materials contained in the plurality of storage portions;
a cover being opened when the plurality of storage portions are operated on;
a light emission unit; and
a control unit configured to control the light emission unit, based on the state of the recording material detected by the state detection unit being a predetermined state in one of the plurality of storage portions, so that the light emission unit emits light in a first light emission pattern corresponding to the one of the plurality of storage portions that contains the recording material in the predetermined state, out of a plurality of light emission patterns,
wherein the control unit is configured to control the light emission unit to emit a second light emission pattern different from the first light emission pattern, based on an opening of the cover during light emission of the light emission unit in the first light emission pattern,
wherein the control unit is configured to control the light emission unit so as to return to the first light pattern, based on a fact that a carriage on which the plurality of storage portions is loaded has moved to a predetermined position where the plurality of storage portions can be replaced during light emission of the light emission unit in the second light emission pattern.
