1. An orthopedic implant comprising a biodegradable composite, the biodegradable composite comprising a reinforcement filler, wherein said reinforcement filler comprises a plurality of reinforcing fibers; wherein said biodegradable composite further comprises a biodegradable polymer; wherein an average density of the biodegradable composite is in a range of 1.3-3.0 g/cm3; wherein an inherent viscosity (IV) of the biodegradable polymer alone is in the range of 1.0 to 3.0 dl/g; and wherein a percentage of reinforcing fibers is in the range of 40% to 50% weight per weight; wherein a plurality of said reinforcement fibers are arranged in parallel to a longitudinal axis of the implant.
