1. A system for obtaining diagnostic data of a target, the system comprising:
an imaging device comprising:
an adaptor configured to be removably coupled to a mobile communication device, the adaptor including at least one excitation light source configured to directly illuminate a portion of the target with excitation light;
a mobile communication device having an optical sensor configured to detect signals responsive to illumination of the target with the excitation light;
a processor configured to receive the detected signals, to analyze data from the detected signals using pixel intensity, and to output data regarding a bacterial load of the illuminated portion of the target; and
a drape configured to reduce ambient light surrounding the target during imaging.
