1. A method for sharing transactions between devices, the method comprising:
determining, at a first instance of a shared application on a first mobile phone of a first user, an intent to initiate a transaction to purchase a product or service from a merchant and an intent for sharing a payment for the product or service between the first user and another user;
initiating processing, by the first instance of the shared application, of the transaction to purchase the product or service, the initiating of the processing comprising determining of a transaction or reference identification (ID) that references the transaction that is being processed by the first instance of the shared application;
providing the transaction or reference ID to a second instance of the shared application at a second mobile phone of a second user, the transaction or reference identification (ID) for accessing the transaction at the second instance of the shared application at the second mobile phone, wherein the second user is determined to be the other user;
determining, based on a user selection initiated at the second mobile phone via the second instance of the shared application, a second portion of the payment indicated by the second user; and
communicating with a payment processor to process the payment to an account of the merchant as shared using a first portion of the payment and the second portion of the payment between a first user account of the first user and a second user account of the second user.
