1. A method, comprising:
identifying, at a first computer system, a set of media data and metadata for the set of media data;
altering, at the first computer system, the set of media data based at least in part on the metadata to obtain an altered set of media data, wherein the altering of the set of media data based at least in part on the metadata encodes the metadata into the set of media data to obtain the altered set of media data;
creating, at the first computer system after the metadata has been encoded into the set of media data and the altered set of media data has been obtained, a cryptographic representation of at least a portion of the altered set of media data; and
outputting, by the first computer system after the cryptographic representation of at least the portion of the altered set of media data has been created, the cryptographic representation of at least the portion of the altered set of media data to an immutable ledger, wherein the cryptographic representation corresponds to an entry in the immutable ledger.
