1. A method comprising:
operating an inertial measurement unit (IMU) in a first state of a plurality of states, the first state having a first sampling rate of sensor data; and
in response to detecting motion, transitioning the IMU to a second state of the plurality of states, the second state having a second sampling rate of the sensor data, wherein the first rate is slower than the second rate.
