14 Claims

1. An adhesive composition for polarizing plates, comprising an epoxy compound, a (meth)acrylate compound, and a photoinitiator,

wherein the (meth)acrylate compound comprises a mixture of a bifunctional (meth)acrylate compound and a monofunctional (meth)acrylate compound having a hydrophobic functional group, and

wherein the adhesive composition for polarizing plates has an adhesive strength of about 200 gf/inch or more, as measured after depositing the adhesive composition onto each of a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) film, a triacetylcellulose (TAC) film, and a cycloolefin polymer (COP) film, and bonding a polarizer thereto, followed by photo-curing,

wherein the adhesive composition for polarizing plates is solvent-free and has a viscosity at 25° C. of about 20 cP to about 100 cP, and

wherein the epoxy compound comprises a bifunctional alicyclic epoxy compound, and the bifunctional alicyclic epoxy compound is present in an amount of 50 parts by weight to about 90 parts by weight relative to 100 parts by weight of the epoxy compound and the (meth)acrylate compound.
