1. A lingual repositioning device comprising:
a mandibular piece having a teeth covering having a left molar portion and/or a right molar portion, a first housing proximate at least one of the left molar portion or the right molar portion, and a protrusive flange extending cranially from the first housing;
wherein the first housing includes a stimulator protrusion extending therefrom at a position posterior to the protrusive flange and configured to extend toward a tongue of a user at a position to contact a lingual muscle of the tongue;
wherein the stimulator protrusion encloses a stimulator and one or more sensors, and the first housing encloses a power source electrically connected to an on-board circuit board and electrically connected to an electrode of the stimulator and to the one or more sensors; and
a maxillary piece having a second teeth covering comprising a driver in operable mated relationship with a posterior surface of the protrusive flange;
wherein the posterior surface of the protrusive flange is arcuately-shaped as a concave surface and the driver mates thereagainst with a convex surface the concave surface and convex surface are configured to protrude the mandible of a user forward as the user's temporo-mandibular joint relaxes, thereby defining a first oral cavity volume and a first cross-sectional area of an upper airway for the user;
wherein the on-board circuit board is configured to activate the stimulator after receiving data from the one or more sensors to incrementally protrude the base of the tongue forward to increase the first oral cavity volume and the first cross-sectional area of the upper airway to a second oral cavity volume and a second cross-sectional area of the upper airway.
