1. A surgical instrument comprising:
a surgical loading unit having a lug;
a switch configured to be actuated in response to the surgical loading unit being coupled to the surgical instrument; and
an annular member configured to capture the lug of the surgical loading unit and for preventing an actuation of the switch, wherein the annular member is configured to rotate relative to the switch between a first orientation, in which the annular member prevents actuation of the switch, and a second orientation in which the annular member does not prevent actuation of the switch.
