1. A Data Storage Device (DSD), comprising:
one or more disks, wherein each disk of the one or more disks includes at least one recording surface configured to store data in a plurality of tracks on the at least one recording surface;
one or more heads configured to write data on a respective recording surface of the one or more disks;
a memory configured to store at least one data structure configured to count writes performed in a track of the plurality of tracks; and
circuitry configured to:
receive a write command to write data in a target zone including one or more tracks on a recording surface of the one or more disks;
control a head of the one or more heads to write the data for the write command in the target zone;
determine whether a data structure is stored in the memory for counting writes performed in a track of the target zone; and
in response to determining that a data structure is not stored in the memory for the track in the target zone, create at least one Low Repeat Write (LRW) data structure for the target zone configured to count writes in different sectors of respective tracks of the target zone since the creation of the at least one LRW data structure.
