1. A graphics processing apparatus comprising:
one or more cores to execute instructions to perform ray tracing operations with a plurality of hierarchically arranged nodes including a root node and lowest level nodes that point to leaf data; and
circuitry to store the lowest level nodes of the plurality of hierarchically arranged nodes, comprising:
storing a quantized lowest level node and leaf data associated with a set of quantized lowest level nodes without storing pointers to the associated leaf data, wherein locations of the associated leaf data are determined based on a size of the associated leaf data.
