1. A method, comprising:
positioning an optical substrate over a base substrate, the optical substrate having deviations from a design configuration;
locating a first discrete adhesive of a first contraction type between an individual deviation of the optical substrate and the base substrate and a second discrete adhesive of a second contraction type between another individual deviation of the optical substrate and the base substrate; and,
causing the first and second discrete adhesives to impart contractive forces between the base substrate and the optical substrate that decreases at least one of the individual deviation and the another individual deviation.
