1. A system of controlling uncontrolled release of ammonia from an engine of a vehicle, the system comprising:
a route management module configured to predict engine exhaust properties to be output from the engine for an upcoming road segment on which the vehicle is to travel;
an ammonia-storage-model module configured to predict an amount of stored ammonia for the upcoming road segment based on the predicted exhaust properties; and
a predictive-adaptive-reactive-ammonia-control module configured to:
predict ammonia to be released while the vehicle is travelling on the upcoming road segment based on the predicted amount of stored ammonia;
select at least one engine-related countermeasure based on the predicted ammonia release; and
output the at least one engine-related countermeasure.
