12 Claims

1. A method performed by a receiving wireless device, the method comprising:

receiving a High-Efficiency (HE) PHY Protocol Data Unit (PPDU) including a data field;

estimating a duration of a data field;

determining a number of symbols in the data field according to

wherein N_SYMis the number of symbols, T_{DATA_EST}is the estimated duration of the data field, T_SYMis a duration of a symbol included in the data field, and b₂is a value of a Packet Extension (PE) Disambiguity bit of a PE field of an HE Signal A (HE-SIG-A) field of the HE PPDU;

determining a duration of a packet extension of the HE PPDU according to

wherein T_PEis the duration of the packet extension; and

determining a state of a primary channel used to receive the HE PPDU as idle after waiting for the duration of the packet extension.
