1. A drone deployable power line fault detection sensor, comprising:
a normally closed clamp mechanism, wherein the clamp mechanism comprises a clamp ring having an opening configured to receive a power transmission line; and
one or more sensors carried by the clamp mechanism positioned to detect a line fault on the power transmission line, wherein the one or more sensors comprise a coil positioned around the clamp ring.
