1. An apparatus for wireless communication at a user equipment (UE), comprising:
memory; and
at least one processor coupled to the memory and configured to:
detect, from a base station, a first reference signal (RS) within a first physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) occasion among a plurality of semi-persistent scheduled PDSCH occasions; and
identify that no PDSCH signal is within the first PDSCH occasion from the base station based on a difference between a first energy level associated with the first RS within the first PDSCH occasion and a second energy level associated with a portion of the first PDSCH occasion not including the first RS.
