1. A system for configuring a hospitality property having a plurality of rooms, the system comprising:
a server;
at least one amenity located in a room of the plurality of rooms, the at least one amenity being configured in one of a first configuration profile and a second configuration profile, the second configuration profile provisioning room-specific guest preferred features for the room, the guest preferred features including room temperature, and television lineup, and other amenity preferences;
a set-top box located in the room, the set-top box being in communication with the server, the at least one amenity, a remote control, and a wireless-enabled interactive handheld device, the wireless-enabled interactive handheld device is supplied by or carried by the guest and is registered and associated with the set-top box in order to join a local area wireless network at the hospitality property to enable various sevices and the local area wireless network requiring authorization;
a programming interface being configured to communicate with the set-top box, the set-top box having a processor and non-transitory memory communicatively interconnected in a busing architecture;
the non-transitory memory of the set-top box including processor-executable instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the system to:
in response to receiving the second configuration profile from the server, override the first configuration profile at the at least one amenity with the second configuration profile;
in response to receiving the second configuration profile from the remote control, override the first configuration profile at the at least one amenity with the second configuration profile; and
in response to receiving the second configuration profile from the wireless-enabled interactive handheld device, override the first configuration profile at the at least one amenity with the second configuration profile.
