1. A base station for a mobile telecommunications system, the base station comprising:
circuitry configured to:
communicate with at least one user equipment; and
transmit symbols on a physical broadcast channel (PBCH) with a subcarrier spacing, wherein
modulation symbols are repeated in consecutive resource elements in a frequency domain,
each burst of the PBCH with the subcarrier spacing includes a reference symbol repeated in the consecutive resource elements,
the subcarrier spacing of the PBCH differs from a subcarrier spacing of a primary synchronization signal,
the primary synchronization signal includes a synchronization sequence,
a sign of one part of the synchronization sequence corresponds to the subcarrier spacing of the primary synchronization signal, and
a sign of another part of the synchronization sequence corresponds to the subcarrier spacing of the PBCH.
