1. A system comprising:
one or more hardware processors; and
a memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more hardware processors, cause the system to perform:
a configured node of a cloud exchange point (CXP) providing a stimulus to a resource monitor coupled to the configuration node, the stimulus indicative of a network resource consumption state;
triggering, by an on-demand configuration engine responsive to the stimulus, the on-demand configuration engine to configure a stateless node with node configuration parameter values for routing, security, operating system, and forwarding.
