1. A method comprising:
receiving encoded data including first audio data encoded with metadata, the first audio data representing a first portion of first audio, and the metadata indicating a property of the first audio;
determining the metadata from the encoded data;
determining the property of the first audio based at least in part on the metadata;
generating decoded audio data that includes the first audio data and replaces the metadata with second audio data, the second audio data representing a second portion of the first audio, wherein the decoded audio data has a same size as the encoded data; and
causing an output operation on the decoded audio data such that second audio is presented via a speaker based at least in part on the property.
