12. An authentication method executed by an authentication device, the authentication device comprising a ring, the method comprising:
acquiring fingerprint information by a first sensor;
performing authentication based on fingerprint information stored in the ring and the acquired fingerprint information;
causing a function of the ring to be active based on a result of the authentication;
detecting acceleration of the ring by a second sensor;
detecting, by each of a plurality of third sensors, a distance to a finger inside the ring, the plurality of third sensors provided on a circumference of the ring; and
determining that the ring is positioned at an authentication position based on the detected acceleration detected by the second sensor and distances to the finger inside the ring detected by the plurality of third sensors,
wherein the authentication is performed when it is determined that the ring is positioned at the authentication position.
