1. A passive air sampler, comprising:
at least one air particle collection screen or material;
a continuous outer housing surrounding the at least one air particle collection screen that allows aerosol particles to enter the sampler;
a base connected to the outer housing; and
an upper cover connected to the outer housing at an end opposite the base and protecting the at least one air particle collection screen, wherein the at least one air particle collection screen is comprised of wire mesh, wherein the wire mesh material is selected from the group consisting of carbon steel, galvanized steel, aluminum, and mixtures thereof.
