1. Quantum dot comprising:
a core of InP;
a first layer of ZnSe; and
an external shell of a ternary or quaternary II-VI material consisting in:
Zn,
Cd, and
at least one element selected from the group consisting of S and Se,
wherein the ratio between the number of atoms of Cd and the sum of the number of atoms of Zn and the number of atoms of Cd is between 0.02 and 0.2.
