1. A polymer composition comprising:
a polyoxymethylene polymer present in the polymer composition in an amount of at least 80% by weight;
an acid neutralizing agent, the acid neutralizing agent being present in the polymer composition in an amount from greater than 5% to 10% by weight, wherein the acid neutralizing agent comprises magnesium oxide or a mixture of magnesium oxide and zinc oxide, the magnesium oxide having a BET surface area of greater than 25 m2/g;
a plasticizer, wherein the plasticizer comprises a polyalkylene glycol, the polyalkylene glycol being present in the polymer composition in an amount from about 2% to 12% by weight;
a sterically hindered phenol antioxidant; and
a Charpy notched impact strength at 23° C. of greater than 5 kJ/m2, a tensile stress of greater than 54 MPa, and a tensile modulus of greater than 2,500 MPa.
