1. A method for preparing an adsorbent from palm fiber and a polymer, comprising:
obtaining palm fiber;
cutting and drying the palm fiber to obtain dried palm fiber pieces;
alkali-activating the dried palm fiber pieces to obtain alkali-activated palm fiber pieces;
pyrolyzing the alkali-activated palm fiber pieces to obtain alkali-activated palm fiber char;
dissolving at least one polymer in an organic solvent to obtain a polymer solution;
dispersing the alkali-activated palm fiber char in the polymer solution to obtain a mixture;
extracting the organic solvent from the mixture to obtain a composite; and
annealing the composite to provide the adsorbent.
