1. A disinfection system forming ultraviolet light barrier to
separate a first area and a second area comprising:
a UV light source in a housing, the disinfection system configured such that a plane of UV light is emitted from the housing through a narrow opening defined by the housing;
wherein the first area is defined on a first side of the plane of UV light, and the second area is defined on a second side of the plane of UV light, such that an infectious material passing through the plane of UV light is weakened, deactivated or destroyed; and
a second housing separate from and spaced apart from the housing, the second housing comprising a mirror which is perpendicular to the plane of UV light emitted from the housing, operable to reflect the UV light back towards the housing, and thereby increase the intensity of the UV light.
