1. An electrically heated smoking system comprising:
a housing;
an aerosol forming substrate; and
a first heater configured to heat the aerosol forming substrate and form aerosol, the heater being arranged at a downstream end of the aerosol forming substrate and extending a first distance only partially along a length of the aerosol forming substrate, a downstream end of the first heater and the downstream end of the aerosol forming substrate being spaced apart along the aerosol forming substrate, wherein the first heater extends around a circumference of the aerosol forming substrate.
